I got a soup and a dozen clams and I was happy. It's byob if I remember correctly. Would recommend if you're a fan of shellfish; however if you do not like fried food many if their dishes are fried or raw not much in between. But still excellent.
A Somers Point summertime institution. Very relaxing bayside dining with a down to earth, family ambience. The staff is always friendly and never far if you need an opener for your BYOB beverage. And they wouldn't have remained so popular for this long if their tried and true recipes weren't really tasty!
I hate the shoobies that flock there in droves, but I love the food. It is the quintessential clam shack - no frills but great seafood. Get there early or be prepared to wait. We tend to walk off the boat, up the dock, and in for dinner, just as they open. The specials are great - normally a new take on one of their classics. They could work on their fries, but no one goes there for fries... The staff is as friendly as can be, considering how crazy it can get. It is cash only, but they have a ATM there. Also, it is BYOB - can't go wrong. I just wish people knew how to park in the lot...
The locals enjoy the "pre and post season" hours to say hi to the owners and see the local youngsters working hard towards college.
Go to this perfect seafood shack on the bay. Order the chowder, red or white. I like white. Plentiful platters of clams, shrimp, scallops, whitefish. Crab cakes and more. Good burgers for your picky kid/husband/wife. Fried or baked if you're watching your intake. Basic sides: Cole slaw, applesauce and similar. The iced tea is great. Bring your own adult beverages. Wait times can be long on summer weekends so plan to tailgate on the many benches outside the restaurant. They come around with cups and openers. A warm, friendly, quality place that doesn't disappoint.
Had a great time here. I had their specially seasoned salmon and it was delicious. Prior to getting there, there was a wait but we had a couple drinks and enjoyed the view of the bay. Very nice people and very enjoyable atmosphere. There are very rare gems of places that can manage to get 5 stars from me and serve my drink in a paper cup. If your in the area and hungry, this is definitely a staple place in new jersey.
